Lieutenant Charles Alexander Pope

Born on 6 July 1879 in Quebec City, Quebec - next of kin listed as Edwin and Mary Margaret Pope, Quebec City, Quebec - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as barrister-at-law; single; currently a member of the McGill University COTC; no previous military service; Church of England; height of 5 feet 7 inches; chest of 35 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; grey/blue eyes; auburn hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 17 February 1915 - transferred to Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, CEF, on 25 July 1915 - killed in action on 7 May 1916 - buried in Maple Copse Cemetery (grave Sp. Mem. B. 8), Belgium.
