Private Arthur McLeod

Born on 27 July 1895 in St. Davids, Ontario - son of Mrs. Emily McLeod, St. Davids, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in St. Davids, Ontario; trade as canner; single; no current or previous military service; Presbyterian; height of 5 feet 8.5 inches; chest of 36.5 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue eyes; brown hair.

Joined the 176th Battalion, CEF, in Niagara Falls, Ontario, on 23 February 1916 (number 850096) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 8 or 9 April 1918 - captured and made a prisoner of war on 10 August 1918 - repatriated on 1 December 1918.

Died on 21 December 1924.

Your site came to me in a google alert I have set for the name "McLeod".

Off topic but....
My great grandfather, Arthur Judson McLeod, was in the US Military between 1919 and 1921. Miner 1st US Army- Europe.
