Born on 31 March 1877 in Manchester, England - brother of Mrs. Mary Little[?], Manchester, England - at the time of his enlistment in 1917: present address in Ramsayville, Ontario; trade as farmer; single; no current or previous military service; Methodist; height of 5 feet 6 inches; chest of 38 inches fully expanded; sandy eyes; blue eyes; brown hair.

Joined No.3 Section, Divisional Ammunition Column, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 4 April 1917 (number 2043053) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 11 or 12 July 1917 - wounded on 5 September 1917 - invalided to England on 16 September 1917 - later served with reserve units.
