Private Henry Klingender Irwin

Born on 25 February 1883 in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England - husband of Mary Ellen Irwin, Toronto, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: present address same as wife; trade as carpenter; married; currently a member of The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada; no previous military service; Church of England; height of 5 feet 10.75 inches; chest of 36.5 inches fully expanded; dark complexion; hazel eyes; black hair.

Joined the 126th Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 27 December 1915 (number 775093) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 4 or 6 December 1916 - wounded on 9 April 1917 - invalided to England on 16 April 1917 - later invalided to Canada for further medical treatment at the Ontario Military Hospital at Orpington.
