Private David Velney Hamilton

Born on 9 June 1895 in Emerson, Manitoba - friend of Mrs. Martha Rivers, Ottawa, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1914: trade as electrician, single, no current or previous military service, Church of England, height of 5 feet 5 inches, chest of 36 inches fully expanded, swarthy complexion, blue eyes, brown hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, under alias "Clarence Wilson", in Ottawa, Ontario, on 29 December 1914 (number 410229) - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - wounded on 3 September 1918 - invalided to England on 7 September 1918.
