Acting-Corporal Walter James Hagar

Born on 8 July 1883 in Ramsgate, England - husband of Rose Hagar, Westboro, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as plasterer, married, no current or previous military service, Methodist, height of 5 feet 7.25 inches, chest of 36 inches fully expanded, dark complexion, hazel eyes, dark brown hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 5 February 1915 (number 410294) - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion to the Canadian Labour Pool on 17 April 1918.
