Joined the 121st Canadian Infantry Battalion in Vancouver, British Columbia, on 12 November 1915 (number 760089) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion in France on 15 November 1916 - wounded on 9 April 1917 - invalided to England on 26 April 1917 - transferred to the Canadian Forestry Corps on 26 October 1917.
