Private Walter Elmer Vandusen

Born on 24 December 1889 in Syracuse, New York – son of Edward Walter Vandusen, Chesterville, Ontario – at the time of his enlistment in 1915: lived in Canada for fifteen years); trade as moulder; single; currently a member of the 42nd Regiment; no previous military service; Wesleyan; height of 5 feet 5.5 inches; chest of 34 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue eyes; fair hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Smiths Falls, Ontario, on 25 February 1915 (number 410791) – transferred to the 2nd Battalion, CEF, on 25 August 1915 – wounded on 28 September 1915 – wounded on 18 or 28 March 1916.
