Private John Sears

Born on 1 October 1873 in Lyndon, Ontario - husband of Sarah Sears, Hamilton, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address same as wife; trade as cigar maker; married; no current military service; previously served with the 91st Canadian Highlanders Regiment (2.5 years) and the infantry regiment in Brantford (seven years); Church of England; height of 5 feet 9.25 inches; chest of 36 inches fully expanded; pallid complexion; grey eyes; dark hair.

Joined the 205th Battalion, CEF, in Hamilton, Ontario, on 25 May 1916 (number 240273) - transferred to the 164th Battalion, CEF, on 5 April 1917 - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 8 or 9 April 1918 - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion on 1 May 1919.
