Lance-Corporal James Alexander Rea

Born on 13 December 1895 in Kingston, Ontario - son of David J. Rea, Kingston, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as stone cutter; single; no current military service; previously served with the 14th Regiment in Kingston (five years[?]); Church of England; height of 5 feet 10.5 inches; chest of 33 inches fully expanded; ruddy complexion; grey eyes; dark brown hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Barriefield Camp, Ontario, on 27 July 1915 (number 410385) - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - wounded on 21 February 1917 - attached to the 12th Canadian Light Trench Mortar Battery, CEF, on 1 October 1917 - rejoined the 38th Battalion on 12 November 1918.
