Private William Lucas Raynor

Born on 8 September 1892 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England - son of Albert Edward Raynor, Georgetown, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as clerk; single; no current military service; previously served with the 5th Duke of Wellington's West Riding Regiment (two years); height of 5 feet 7 inches; chest of 35.5 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue eyes; red hair.

Joined the 59th Battalion, CEF, in Lindsay, Ontario, on 21 May 1915 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 22 June 1915 (number 410865) - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - wounded on 1 September 1916 - invalided to England on 5 September 1916 - died of those wounds on 30 June 1917 - buried in Huddersfield (Edgerton) Cemetery (grave 41.50C), United Kingdom.
