Private Joseph Henry Pilgrim

Born on 24 August 1874 in Nottingham, England - husband of Minnie Pilgrim, Ottawa, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as polisher; married; no current military service; previously served with the 2nd Derbyshire Regiment; Church of England; height of 5 feet 10.75 inches; chest of 36 inches fully expanded; fresh complexion; brown eyes; dark brown hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 1 February 1915 (number 410379) - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - taken on the strength of the 4th Labour Battalion, CEF, on 14 March 1917.
