Private James Joseph McGarman

Born on 10 June 1879 in London, Ontario - nephew of Mrs. P. Howard, London, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: present address in Mount Bry[ag?], Ontario; trade as labourer; single; no current military service; previously served with the 6th Field Artillery (six years); Roman Catholic; height of 5 feet 7.75 inches; chest of 38 inches fully expanded; dark complexion; blue eyes; dark brown hair.

Joined the 91st Battalion, CEF, in St. Thomas, Ontario, on 30 October 1915 (number 189347) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 20 or 21 August 1916 - captured and made a prisoner of war on 11 January 1917 - repatriated on 26 December 1918.
