Private Hugh McGarvey

Born on 15 March 1897 in Croyn, Ontario - son of Robert McGarvey, Point Anne, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: present address in Millbridge, Ontario; trade as labourer; single; no current or previous military service; Methodist; height of 5 feet 2.5 inches; chest of 35.5 inches fully expanded; dark complexion; dark blue eyes; brown hair.

Joined the 155th Battalion, CEF, in Belleville, Ontario, on 29 December 1915 (number 636173) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 18 or 19 January 1918 - transferred to the Canadian Labour Pool, CEF, on 8 June 1918.
