Sergeant Eardley Gavin Koyl

Born on 28 January 1893 in Cobourg, Ontario - son of Mrs. R.B. Koyl, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as clerk with the Department of the Interior; single; no current military service; previously served with the 45th Regiment (one year), 57th Regiment (one year) and 105th Regiment (one year); Wesleyan; height of 5 feet 8.1 inches; chest of 37.3 inches fully expanded; medium complexion; blue eyes; brown hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Montreal, Quebec, on 1 April 1915 (number 411104) - transferred to Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, CEF, on 16 July 1915 - taken on the strength of the 4th Brigade, Canadian Field Artillery, CEF, on 5 January 1916 - transferred to 4th Divisional Headquarters, CEF, on 18 June 1917 - transferred to the Canadian Corps Gas Services, CEF, on 27 February 1918.
