Born on 20 August 1880 in Cornwall, Ontario - son of Bernard Lawrence Durocher, Cornwall, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Cornwall, Ontario, trade as cabinet maker, widower, currently a member of the St. Lawrence Canal Patrol, no previous military service, Roman Catholic, height of 5 feet 3 inches, chest of 36 inches fully expanded, weight of 138 pounds, dark complexion, brown eyes, brown hair.

Joined the 240th Battalion, CEF, in Renfrew, Ontario, on 15 October 1916 (number 1042232) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 26 or 27 September 1918 - invalided sick to England on 6 October 1918.
