Sergeant Leslie George Deswbury

Born on 25 September 1895 in Collingwood, Ontario - next of kin listed as William J. Dewsbury, Collingwood, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as stenographer, single, no current or previous military service, Methodist, height of 5 feet 2.5 inches, chest of 32 inches fully expanded, fair complexion, blue eyes, brown hair.

Joined the 37th Battalion, CEF, in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, on 11 June 1915 (number 409110) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, in England on 1 August 1916 - landed in France with the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 13 August 1916 - wounded on 31 October 1918 - rejoined the 38th Battalion on 4 November 1918 - invalided sick to England on 25 January 1919.
