Moulde, Hintonburg, Ottawa, Ontario - enlistment records provide the following: present address same as mother, trade as stenographer, single, currently a member of the 43rd Regiment Duke of Cornwall's Own Rifles (one year) (1916) / Corps of Military Staff Clerks Sec "A" (1919), no previous military service, Baptist, height of 5 feet 6 inches, chest of 35 inches fully expanded, medium complexion, grey eyes, brown hair.

Joined the 207th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 10 April 1916 (number 246129) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 26 or 27 September 1917 - struck off strength to Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry on 28 November 1917 - wounded on 28 September or 1 October 1918 - later served as a sergeant with the Corps of Military Staff Clerks - enlisted in [???] in Ottawa, Ontario, on 10 July 1919.
