Joined the 38th Canadian Infantry Battalion in Montreal, Quebec, on 20 March 1915 (number 410987) - transferred to Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry in France on 17 July 1915 - attached to the Royal Flying Corps in England on 9 June 1917 - commissioned as a Lieutenant at some point - killed in an aeroplane accident on 14 August 1917 - buried in Lincoln (Newport) Cemetery (grave D.366), England.
