Joined the 38th Battalion on 21 January 1915 (number 410021) - served with the battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - struck off the strength of the battalion on 13 August 1916 - rejoined the battalion on 29 November 1916 - invalided sick to England on 27 November 1917.
