Lance-Corporal Albert Franklin Thoman

Born on 22 August 1895 in Markham, Ontario – husband of Mrs. A.F. Thomas, Kingston, Ontario – at the time of his enlistment in 1917: present address in Kitchener, Ontario; trade as carpenter; married; no current or previous military service; Mennonite; height of 5 feet 9.75 inches; chest of 41 inches fully expanded; fresh complexion; brown eyes; brown hair.

Joined the 3rd Section, Divisional Ammunition Column, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 7 April 1917 (number 2043059) – taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 11 or 12 July 1917 – struck off strength to England as a coal miner on 20 January 1919.
