Lieutenant Basil Stanley Stayner

Born on 4 September 1894 in Brockville, Ontario - son of Jessie M. Stayner, Brockville, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: trade as student; Church of England; currently a member of the 41st Brockville Rifles; previously served with the cadets.

Joined the 156th Battalion, CEF, as a lieutenant in Brockville, Ontario, on 4 March 1916 - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 10 April 1918 - wounded on 10 or 11 August 1918 - invalided sick to England on 4 September 1918.
