Lieutenant Hugh McMaster Scott

Born on 25 May 1886 in Compton County, Quebec - son of John Scott, Montreal, Quebec - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: present address same as father; trade as merchant; Presbyterian; no current military service; previously served with the Canadian Army Service Corps.

Joined the 73rd Battalion, CEF, as a lieutenant in Montreal, Quebec, on 2 August 1915 - landed in France with the 73rd Battalion on 12 August 1916 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, as a lieutenant on 20 April 1917 - transferred to the 42nd Battalion, CEF, on 28 November 1917 - later promoted to captain.

Awarded the Military Cross.
