Major George Henry Saltmarsh

Born on 24 May 1887 in Dresden, Staff, England - husband of Ethel Florence Saltmarsh, Winnipeg, Manitoba - at the time of his enlistment in 1914: trade as sales manager; married; current service (believe with the 106th Winnipeg Light Infantry); previously served with the Imperial Forces (seven years); Wesleyan; height of 5 feet 9 inches; chest of 40 inches fully expanded; fresh complexion; hazel eyes; dark brown hair.

Joined the 10th Battalion, CEF, in Valcartier, Quebec, on 22 September 1914 - transferred to the 45th Battalion, CEF, on 18 February 1915 - transferred to the 101st Battalion, CEF, as a Major in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on 1 December 1915 - taken on the strength of the 73rd Battalion, CEF, on 27 January 1917 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 20 April 1917 - invalided sick to England on 16 November 1917.
