Private Albert Charles Ribbans

Born on 12 August 1897 in London, England - son of W. and Laura Ribbans, Meaford, Ontario (later Orillia, Ontario) - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Meaford, Ontario; trade as wood worker; single; no current or previous military service; Church of England; height of 5 feet 4 inches; chest of 35.5 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue eyes; dark hair.

Joined the 147th Battalion, CEF, in Meaford, Ontario, on 1 January 1916 (number 838694) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 26 or 27 June 1917 - killed in action on 30 October 1917 - name inscribed on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial (panel 10-18-26-28), Belgium.
