Sergeant George Vere Leslie

Born on 17 June 1893 in Ottawa, Ontario - son of George H. Leslie, Westboro, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: present address in Westboro, Ontario; trade as stenographer; single; no current military service; previously served with the Canadian Army Service Corps (five years); Roman Catholic; height of 5 feet 3 inches; chest of 37 inches fully expanded; medium dark complexion; brown eyes; dark brown hair.

Joined the 77th Battalion, CEF, in Rockcliffe Camp, Ottawa, Ontario, on 13 August 1915 (number 144552) - sailed for overseas on 19 June 1916 - taken on the strength of the 4th Divisional Train, Canadian Army Service Corps, CEF, as a Sergeant on 11 August 1916 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 11 or 12 January 1917 - invalided sick to England on 10 April 1919 - returned to Canada on 20 September 1919.
