Joined the 91st Battalion, CEF, in St. Thomas, Ontario, on 14 February 1916 (number 189977) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 20 or 21 August 1916 - killed in action on 9 April 1917 - buried in Canadian Cemetery No.2 (grave Sp. Mem. No.14), France.
