Corporal Frederick Charles Duddleston

Born on 1 December 1873 in England - next of kin listed as H.W. Duddleston, Brighton, Sussex, England - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as clerk, single, currently a member of the 43rd Regiment, Duke of Cornwall's Own Rifles (since 5 January 1915), previously served fifteen years in the Imperial Army, Church of England, height of 5 feet 8 inches, chest of 44 inches fully expanded, healthy complexion, light brown eyes, black hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 22 February 1915 (number 410082) - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - transferred to the Canadian Labour Pool on 5 November 1917.
