Joined the 97th Battalion, CEF, in Whitewood, Saskatchewan, on 14 July 1916 (number 261649) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 5 or 6 March 1917 - wounded on 9 April 1917 - invalided to England on 18 April 1917 - died of those wounds on 28 June 1917 - buried in Brookwood Military Cemetery (grave IX.D.II), England.
