Private John Desmond

Born on 17 May 1884 in London, England - son of Eugene Desmond, London, England - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in St. Thomas, Ontario, trade as butcher, single, no current or previous military service, Church of England, height of 5 feet 2.5 inches, chest of 35.5 inches fully expanded, medium complexion, grey eyes, dark brown hair.

Joined the 91st Battalion, CEF, in St. Thomas, Ontario, on 22 February 1916 (number 190007) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 20 or 21 August 1916 - wounded on 9 April 1917 - invalided to England on 11 April 1917 - died of his wounds on 17 September 1919 buried in Brookwood (United Kingdom 1914-1918) Memorial, United Kingdom.
