Born on 20 June 1893 in Smiths Falls, Ontario - son of Richard Craig, Smiths Falls, Ontario - at time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as student, single, no current military service, previously did cadet work, Wesleyan, height of 5 feet 4 inches, chest of 35 inches fully expanded, fresh complexion, grey eyes, black hair.
Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Montreal, Quebec, on 12 April 1915 (number 411128) - taken on the strength of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry on 16 July 1915 - transferred to the Royal Flying Corps on 29 November 1918 in order to be commissioned.
Awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal.
