Sergeant Charles Clow

Born on 4 February 1889 in Norfolk, England - son of late John Nathan Clow and Alice Parker (formerly Clow), latter Hampstead, London, England and Rockaway, New Jersey - enlistment records provide the following: trade as labourer, single, currently a member of the military (no details provided), no previous military service, Presbyterian, height of 5 feet 10 inches, chest of 36 inches fully expanded, fair complexion, blue eyes, light brown hair.

Joined the 35th Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 5 April 1915 (number 405505) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 8 or 9 April 1918 - killed in action on 29 September 1918 - buried in Bourlon Wood Cemetery (grave II.A.7), France.
