Joined the 77th Battalion, CEF, as "Henri St. Marie" in Ottawa, Ontario, on 18 October 1915 (number 145281) - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Bermuda on 6 December 1915 - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion in Bermuda on 22 January 1916 - joined the 69th Battalion, CEF, on 26 January 1916 - taken on the strength of the 22nd Battalion, CEF, on 27 August 1916 - wounded on 12 May or June 1917.
