Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 19 March 1915 (number 410421) – served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda – landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 – wounded on 13 January 1917 – died of those wounds on 14 January 1917 – buried in Barlin Communal Cemetery Extension (grave I.F.10), England.
