Joined the 5th University Company, CEF, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on 22 November 1915 (number 487329) - taken on the strength of Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, CEF, on 6 June 1916 - sent to England for Officers' Training Course on 14 March 1917 - promoted to lieutenant with the 7th Reserve Battalion on 28 April 1917 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, as an acting-captain (lieutenant) on 21 July 1917 - killed in action on 27 September 1918 - buried in Quarry Wood Cemetery (grave III.A.5), France.
