Lance-Corporal Murray Smith

Born on 31 August 1888 in Toronto, Ontario – husband of Minnie Smith, Toronto, Ontario – at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as teamster; married; no current or previous military service; Church of England; height of 5 feet 8.5 inches; chest of 35 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; brown eyes; dark brown hair.

Joined the 126th Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 20 December 1915 (number 775173) – taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 4 or 6 December 1916 – wounded on 26 August 1917 – invalided to England on 31 August 1917.
