Joined the 156th Battalion, CEF, in Brockville, Ontario, on 24 December 1915 (number 639362) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 18 or 19 January 1918 - wounded on 16 March 1918 - invalided to England on 29 March 1918.
