Joined the 154th Battalion, CEF, in Maxville, Ontario, on 8 February 1916 (number 633441) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 18 or 19 January 1918 - wounded on 2 September 1918 - invalided to England on 4 September 1918.
Awarded the Military Medal - no official citation - unit recommendation dated 15 August 1918: "For courage and devotion to duty during operations between Haugard and Hallu Aug. 8th to 12th 1918."
