Born on 27 January 1893 in Wales, Ontario - husband of Gildie[?] Ryan, Morrisburg, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Morrisburg, Ontario; trade as brakeman; married; no current military service; previously served with the 59th Regiment; Roman Catholic; height of 5 feet 4.5 inches; chest of 37 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue eyes; light brown eyes.

Joined the Depot Regiment, Canadian Mounted Rifles, CEF, in Morrisburg, Ontario, on 1 May 1916 (number 226740) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 10 or 11 October 1918 - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion on 16 June 1919.
