Private James Johnstone Rose

Born on 17 February 1888 in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia - son of Rev. John Rose, Crossboat, Stornoway, Scotland - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: present address in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; trade as farmer; single; no current or previous military service; Presbyterian; height of 5 feet 7 inches; chest of 38 inches fully expanded; dark complexion; hazel eyes; brown hair.

Joined the 65th Battalion, CEF, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on 16 November 1915 (number 472627) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 27 or 29 November 1916 - invalided to England on 28 January 1917.
