Born on 8 February 1899 in Waltham, Quebec - son of William Henry Robinson, Waltham, Quebec - at the time of his enlistment in 1917: present address in Waltham, Quebec; trade as farmer; single; no current or previous military service; Methodist; height of 5 feet 10 inches; chest of 36 inches fully expanded; fresh complexion; blue eyes; brown hair.

Joined the 74th Battery, Canadian Field Artillery, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 5 January 1917 (number 344940) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 11 or 12 July 1917 - struck off strength to England as a "minor" 2 November 1917.
