Private Joseph William Roberts

Born on 7 May 1891 in Exeter, Devonshire, England - son of Joseph William and Sarah Roberts, Exeter, Devonshire, England - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Toronto, Ontario; trade as laborer; single; no current or previous military service; Church of England; height of 5 feet 5.5 inches; chest of 35.5 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; brown eyes; light brown hair.

Joined the 126th Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 3 March 1916 (number 775934) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 4 or 6 December 1916 - killed in action on 30 October 1917 - buried in Tyne Cot Cemetery (grave XI.D.22), Belgium.
