Born on 10 November 1898 in Innerkip, Oxford County, Ontario - son of Charles Roberts, Restoule, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Restoule, Ontario; trade as farmer; single; no current or previous military service; height of 5 feet 5 inches; chest of 33 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue eyes; brown hair.

Joined the 162nd Battalion, CEF, in Sundridge[?], Ontario, on 17 June 1916 (number 658032) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 27 or 28 March 1918 - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion on 5 May 1919.
