Joined the 57th Battalion, CEF, in Quebec, Quebec, on 31 October 1915 (number 448357) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 6 or 7 December 1917 - wounded on 16 March 1918 - rejoined the 38th Battalion on 3 June 1918 - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion on 2 May 1919.
Recommended for a Military Medal, but no award made - unit recommendation dated 5 October 1918: "For Gallantry during the operations in the vicinity of Bourlon, 29th Sept 1918."
