Sergerant Harry Clifford Pringle

Born on 15 September 1898 in Owen Sound, Ontario - son of Mrs. Annie Pringle, Owen Sound, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: present address same as mother; trade as jeweller; single; no current or previous military service; Church of England; height of 5 feet 5.5 inches; chest of 36.5 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue eyes; red hair.

Joined the 147th Battalion, CEF, in Owen Sound, Ontario, on 30 November 1915 (number 838163) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 26 or 27 June 1917 - wounded on 27 or 28 September 1918 - invalided to England on 4 October 1918.

Recommended for an unnamed decoration, but no award made - unit recommendation dated 7 November 1917: "This N.C.O. showed great devotion to duty throughout the operations Oct. 29th to Nov. 2/17, setting a fine example to his section by his cheerfulness and gallantry."
