Private John Edward Pickering

Born on 2 August 1892 in York, Ontario - son of William Pickering, Jacks Lake, Ontario - at the time of his conscription in 1918: present address in Jacks Lake, Ontario; single; Methodist; trade as farmer; no current or previous military service; height of 5 feet 7 inches; chest of 34.5 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue eyes; fair hair.

Conscripted into the 1st Depot Battalion, Eastern Ontario Regiment, CEF, in Kingston, Ontario, on 12 February 1918 (number 3056651) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 17 or 18 August 1918 - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion on 16 June 1919.
