Acting-Sergeant (Corporal) Arthur Ward Northrup

Born on 4 July 1882 in Cleveland, Ohio - brother of Mrs. Alice H. Lee, Bedford, Ohio - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Winnipeg, Manitoba; trade as railroad claim agent; single; no current military service; previously served with the Ohio state militia; Church of England; height of 5 feet 7.5 inches; chest of 37 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; light blue eyes; dark hair.

Joined the 212th Battalion, CEF, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on 21 June 1916 (number 261529) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 26 or 27 June 1917 - killed in action on 30 October 1917 - name inscribed on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial (panel 10-18-26-28), Belgium.
