Captain Basil Boise Wood Minard

Born on 17 August 1897 in Lemenster, Massachusetts - son of A.R. Minard, Toronto, Ontario - brother of Lieutenant Asa Raymond Minard - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: present address same as father; trade as student; Baptist; currently a member of the 13th Royal Regiment; no previous military service.

Joined the 97th Battalion, CEF, as a Lieutenant in Toronto, Ontario, on 4 November 1915 - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, as a Lieutenant on 25 April 1917 - wounded on 29 October 1917 - invalided to England on 31 October 1917 - rejoined the 38th Battalion on 3 June 1918 - promoted to Temporary Captain on 11 August 1918 - wounded on 2 September 1918 - invalided to England on 20 September 1918.

Served with the Veterans' Guard of Canada during the Second World War - promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.

Died on 24 April 1964 - buried in Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa, Ontario.
