Private Louis Randolphe Menard

Born on 11 April 1894 in Cumberland, Ontario - son of Lea Menard, Thurso, Quebec - at the time of his conscription in 1918: present address in Thurso, Quebec; single; Roman Catholic; trade as steam fitter; no current or previous military service; height of 5 feet 8 inches; chest of 38 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; brown eyes; brown hair.

Conscripted into the 1st Depot Battalion, Eastern Ontario Regiment, CEF, in Kingston, Ontario, on 3 April 1918 (number 3057688) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 12 or 13 September 1918 - wounded on 28 September 1918 - invalided to England on 30 September 1918.
