Private Robert Henry McMillan

Born on 18 July 1898 (1916 enlistment) or 18 July 1899 (1915 enlistment) in Maybole, Ayrshire, Scotland - son of Robert McMillan, 53rd Overseas Battalion, Winnipeg - brother of Miss Edith McMillan, Winnipeg, Manitoba - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: present address in Tisdale, Saskatchewan; trade as farmer; single; no current or previous military service; Presbyterian; height of 5 feet 1.5 inches; chest of 31.25 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; brownish gray eyes; brown hair.

Joined "A" Company, [???], as a bugler in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on 1 November 1915 (441379) - discharged on 23 June 1916 as "proved unsuitable" as a bugler - joined the 97th Battalion, CEF, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on 24 June 1916 (number 261566) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 8 or 9 March 1918 - wounded on 2 September 1918 - invalided to England on 6 September 1918.
